TSK completes DWF Liverpool

1st September 2008

DWF, the North's largest full service law firm, has recently joined the growing list of legal practices benefiting from an innovative, value adding working environment created by TSK. The leading office design and delivery specialist has recently completed a seven figure contract for the firm, which focused on the interior of its new Liverpool premises.

The project - which was instigated following DWF's decision to relocate its Merseyside team from their current offices on Liverpool's Castle Street to the city's newest, landmark development - focused on 42,000 square feet across the three top floors of 5 St. Paul's Square. When DWF signed up for the space in December 2007, it was one of the biggest, new build, grade A lettings in Liverpool last year.

As a company that holds caring for its people as a core brand value, DWF saw the move as an excellent opportunity to invest into its staff and subsequently invited bids to fit out the new environment. It was keen for the new work setting to not only deliver maximum cost and operational efficiencies, but also for it to contribute to a number of uniquely 'human' factors such as employee morale, staff retention and client perception. TSK won the intensively competitive tender with a proposal so attuned to the firm's needs that it picked up this contract - and an additional one focusing on DWF's Leeds offices.

The resultant interior at 5 St. Paul's Square is now purposely designed to make the most effective and ergonomic use of the footprint available. Its carefully considered layout, which includes both open plan and cellular spaces, encourages communication and collaboration, whilst making allowances for the more concentration intensive tasks faced by fee earners. Breakout zones, such as relaxed coffee areas, facilitate chance encounters and informal catch-ups. Plus, meeting rooms benefit from the latest AV technology ensuring client presentations look as professional as possible as well as encouraging web, video and telephone conferencing, helping to reduce 'down' time spent travelling.

Meanwhile, to bring the DWF brand to life, TSK has used the highest quality soft-furnishing alongside furniture from Herman Miller - a manufacturer renowned for its contemporary yet ecologically sound designs. The firm's corporate colours are also subtlety incorporated into the offices' overall colour scheme and complimented by original artwork and innovative lighting solutions.

Finally, to ensure an enhanced customer experience and demonstrate DWF's commitment to delivering superior levels of service, TSK even created a dedicated 'client lounge'. This unique facility benefits from features such as wi-fi, concierge services and a relaxation area allowing DWF clients to share in the new environment and work effectively on-site whenever the need or desire arises.

Commenting on the completed Liverpool offices, Managing Partner of DWF, Andrew Leaitherland said: "As part of their promised partnership approach, TSK kept us informed of the project's progress every step of the way. However, even that couldn't prepare us for the impact of seeing the finished results. The new offices perfectly embody who we are and what we are about."

He continues: "In any profession, people spend a considerable amount of their time at work and so we are delighted to offer our Liverpool team an environment that they can enjoy - and be proud of."

Andrew Burns, joint Managing Director at the TSK group, added: "For an organisation like DWF where knowledge capital is so instrumental to its success, the working environment can frequently be an untapped business asset. It's effectively about giving people the right tools to do the job. Give them the right working environment and not only will it affect their productivity but it can also affect their loyalty, mood, ability to think creatively - the list is almost infinite."

Other law firms that have previously worked with TSK include Pinsent Masons, Brabners Chaffe Street, DLA Piper and Panonne & Partners.
