Continuing success at Drax

1st October 2008

TSK has successfully delivered yet another phase in an on-going 24 month programme of work for leading energy generator, Drax Power Limited.

The latest project (phase 4) entailed breathing new life into the upper floors of the client's 'North Admin' building so that they once again offered prime office space. The new environment would then be used to bring together under one roof, a number of head office functions such as IT, HR and procurement which had previously been located in different areas of Drax's site.

In response to the client's brief, TSK completely redesigned and refitted the affected area (measuring over 15,000 square feet) to ensure it offered a more dynamic feel as well as improved levels of light and ventilation.

An open plan layout was also employed to facilitate enhanced communication and collaboration between individuals within the different departments, whilst modern meeting facilities have also been incorporated on all floors. The net result is an environment that's now more conducive to work and that will contribute to major gains, both in terms of operational efficiency and synergy.

Speaking of the completed project, Peter Emery, Drax Power Limited's Production Director, said: "The transformation of the upper floors of the North Admin building is impressive to say the least. It's become an area where people actively want to be based because it looks and feels so bright and modern, it's comfortable and it enjoys all the benefits a well designed office should."

Andy Burke, Group Commercial Director at TSK, added: "We are delighted to have delivered this latest phase and to see our partnership with Drax Power going from strength to strength. The upper floors of the North Admin building demonstrate how effectively we can revitalise existing office space to create a modern, fit for purpose work setting. It also highlights that companies do not necessarily need to move to new premises to enjoy all the benefits of a more productive working environment."

TSK will provide two more environments for Drax Power before the wider programme of work is complete. These involve creating new interiors for a materials handling centre and a works control centre, with both projects due to be delivered in March 2009.
