If you have a suitable TSK login account and want remote access then you need to set up a VPN !
A VPN
is a secure internet connection from the computer you are using to the TSK
network. It allows you to access the same resources you have access to when connected
within the office network however it is limited by the speed of
your internet connection !
For TSK E-mail only, you do not
actually need a VPN as 'Outlook Web Access' and 'Outlook Anywhere' is available.
Refer to the guide Configure
Web E-Mail for TSK for further information.
If you are using a PUBLIC computer in say a cafe, you should not
attempt to set up a VPN without permission. It will probably be refused however
if acceptable, when finished you MUST disconnect and then REMOVE the VPN before
departing. Setting up the VPN is quite straight forward for Microsoft
Windows users and is available on most major Operating Systems including Linux
and Mac.
Windows Users: There is a small executable
program downloadable below which does most of the work for you.
As a
windows user you do however need to know whether you are using a 32 Bit or 64
Bit operating system !
If
you are unsure whether the version of Windows you are using is 32 or 64 bit,
there is an easy way to check:
From
the start menu, if you are using Windows XP or Server 2003 select My Computer or
From Vista, Windows 7 or Server 2008 simply select Computer
to get a list of the Storage Drives on your computer. (Windows 2000 is only 32
Bit !)
Most
windows computers use Hard Disk Drive C: as the home for Windows. Open this
drive 1st and locate a folder called Windows.
When
you have found the hard disk with a folder called Windows then that is probably
the 'System Drive' so all you need to do is see if this drive also has both a Program Files and Program
Files (x86)
folder for 64 Bit systems. 32 Bit systems only have Program Files.

RIVERBED Steelhead Mobile client
Optimize and accelerate network traffic across otherwise slow connections to maximize the speed and efficiency of this traffic.
This software takes a part of your hard disk storage and uses it to cache and accelerate all network traffic.
All TSK Windows PC’s have riverbed fitted as standard. If you are going to be connecting to the VPN regularly from a non TSK PC then Read This
VMView (Work remotely on a TSK PC on the TSK network.)
When working remotely, connected to the VPN, you can take control of a network Windows 7 pc and work on it for speed.
This is the same principle as CITRIX but with windows 7 ! If you need to install the VMView client then Read This
